What is the procedure for using the MEDS SMS Facility?
Answer
You will need to follow the following steps when requesting for information from MEDS through the SMS module.
All messages should be sent to 444
To get the price of an item please send the words MEDS price and then ‘Item code’
For example: “MEDS price COT004”
The reply will have the stock code, item description and the prevailing selling price in Kenya shillings. Using the above example, the reply will read:
“Stock code: COT004, Item: Cotton Wool 400gms roll, Unit: Roll price: 107 Kshs.”
To send an SMS query to MEDS, write the word ‘MEDS’ followed by your message
For example:- “MEDS My name is Peter from xyz Hospital. Please confirm the status of our order number abc””
Our Customer Care team will reply to your request through the same mobile number used to make the query.
Remember: All messages are to be sent to 4445 and must begin with the keyword MEDS.

How do I reach MEDS when the normal telephone lines are down?
Answer
Use the wireless telephone lines. These are only functional when the normal lines are down.
